61-Year-Old Man Killed, Woman Injured in Solo-Car Accident near Avenue 58
THERMAL, CA (January 18, 2023) – Sunday afternoon, Romulo Lippel was killed in a rollover collision on Grapefruit Boulevard.
Authorities responded to the scene around 12:30 p.m., just south of Avenue 58 on December 11th.
Per reports, Lippel was traveling north in a Ford F-250 and veered off the road for reasons still under investigation. As a result, the Ford overturned before landing on its roof.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced 61-year-old Lippel dead at the scene. Meanwhile, a female passenger was taken to a local hospital for further treatment of moderate injuries.
Following preliminary duties, officers determined that both Lippel and his passenger were wearing seatbelts at the time of the incident.
At this time, police have yet to determined if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. No other information was provided and further investigation is still underway.
