Pedestrian Injured in Collision near Koval Lane in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, NV (November 22, 2021) – Roel Raatgever sustained critical injuries after a car accident on Tropicana Avenue, early Monday morning.

According to reports, the accident occurred around 1:43 a.m., on Tropicana Avenue near Koval Lane. Dispatchers responded to the scene shortly after.

Officers say Roel Raatgever crossed Tropicana Avenue within a marked crosswalk, but against the walk signal. As a result, a 2017 Toyota Sienna traveling east on Tropicana struck him.

Moreover, the Toyota’s driver had a green signal. Raatgever then darted into the path of the car, according to witnesses and camera evidence.

Paramedics took Raatgever to University Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Toyota remained at the site and displayed no symptoms of intoxication, according to reports.
