If you needed even more proof that Pasadena designers Rodarte (sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy) are bigger rock stars than most Pitchfork buzzerati, their life is being documented by the amazing Autumn de Wilde, whose thoroughly L.A. camera eye made icons out of Beck, Elliott Smith and countless others in the '90s. The duo's groundbreaking fashion work is now the subject of a show at the Museum of Contemporary Art, also featuring their controversial ballet costume designs for the film Black Swan. “Rodarte: States of Matter,” March 4–June 5, MOCA Pacific Design Center.
