The guitarist Rod Poole, whom the Weekly featured in an article in 2001, was killed Sunday night in Hollywood.  Poole, 45, was in the parking lot of Mel’s Drive-In on Highland just south of Hollywood Boulevard, when he and his wife were nearly hit by a car exiting the lot. After exchanging words, the car’s occupants, Michael and Angela Sheridan, a married couple in their 20s, got out and allegedly accosted Poole.  Michael Sheridan, according to witnesses, stabbed Poole several times, and the musician was later pronounced dead at Cedars-Sinai.
