JUNE 29 ??? JULY 5, 2007
Good gossip, the kind you can bank on, while the Cancer sun
and retrograde Mercury meet on the 28th. The full moon in traditional, respectful
Capricorn this weekend sets the tone for the extended family-friendly events planned
for the Fourth. If you go overboard, which you likely do when agreeable, affectionate
Venus forms a polarity with idealistic Neptune, you can be saved on Sunday as
Venus connects with prudent Saturn. Nothing special for Independence Day except
for an all-encompassing, sympathetic Pisces moon.

Aries

We assume that after two years of living with restrictive Saturn in your house
of romance and recreation, you've made whatever adjustments were necessary.
Nonetheless, while it may provide a measure of stability, Saturn is still a bitch.
However, this perceived lack of affection could change over the weekend when lovable
Venus hooks up with the Old Man. Unfortunately, deceptive, delusional Neptune
is also a part of the planetary mix, so someone is liable to think they've
found “true love” when they haven't. Forewarned, forearmed,
etc., etc.

Taurus

This week, your reputation as an artist (scam artist included) might be pitted
against your responsibilities at home. Those you know quite well, thanks to two
years dealing with heavy-duty Saturn in “Go ahead, spend the extra bucks”
Leo. When your affable Venus ruler meets up with Saturn, you may have the pleasure
(and expense) of entertaining the goddess and her friends and family. Maybe buy
something fabulous as well. At the same time, imaginative Neptune in your Aquarius
career zone is projecting a retouched version of you and your latest accomplishment.

Gemini

Call the fashion police. Or any authority figure who'll show you how to
use the annual conjunction of stylish Venus and tradition-bound Saturn to your
best advantage. Shouldn't be that difficult, since their meeting occurs
in your house of communication and transportation, the vast area that Gemini rules.
Now would also be an opportune time to think about taking a design course, scroll
through eBay to check on prices, or find the garage-sale treasure you've
been searching for. Should you buy it while your Mercury ruler is retrograde?

Cancer

First there's the birthday celebration, then the full moon in your Capricorn
complement, and, capping this week's emotional extravaganza, you have Mercury,
retrograde in your sign for the first time in seven years, making the memory of
birthdays past so much more poignant. The romantically inclined Moon Child may
also have to decide whether to make a significant sacrifice in order to live up
to a highfalutin ideal, or instead to adopt the life lesson that realistic Saturn
has been teaching you these past two years.

Leo

Truth, beauty, a greater love, a higher calling. You could easily get caught up
by the sheer purity all of the above are offering a hungry soul. And while a bit
of confusion may be the price you have to pay for this fabulous feast, it's
possible that retrograde Mercury, in reviewing the past, is whispering words of
wisdom in your ear when it meets with your sun ruler. Look to a friend with sufficient
experience to know of what he or she speaks. Since the conjunction takes place
in maternal Cancer, perhaps a suitable mother figure?

Virgo

August Virgos are the ones favored by the Cancer-Capricorn full moon this weekend.
Whether or not you're in the mood to be sociable, try to make time for a
relative or casual pal who is reaching out to you. You have a relatively rare
opportunity to ground this relationship in mutual trust and mutual advantage.
Plus, both of you can benefit from the resources, financial and physical, a third
party is offering. September Virgos should be on the alert for news about a current
career matter or a former employer.

Libra

You could be in both an enviable and a vulnerable position this week. Enviable,
because your loving Venus ruler is open to whatever idealistic pitch is being
thrown by impressionable Neptune acting through your teammate or a loved one.
Vulnerable, because you're liable to buy into the vision only to discover,
while Venus merges with realistic Saturn, that it's a bunch of hooey. Meanwhile,
the Cancer-Capricorn full moon can bring to a head whatever conflict you've
been feeling between a family matter and a career matter.

Scorpio

Although you may be caught in the middle, Scorpios are decidedly less vulnerable
than, but probably just as conflicted as, your Libra neighbors. Appreciative Venus
and reputable Saturn at the top of your chart opposing nebulous Neptune at home
suggests that a questionable domestic matter is distracting you from pursuing
what could be an impressive career coup. But if this is not a challenge you're
dealing with, then simply be grateful that your Mars co-ruler is so favorably
aligned with the full moon that you just might get a gift this weekend.

Sagittarius

Believe what you will, but try to favor the people who are being good to you.
That means the well-established and the well-respected, the beautiful more than
the bold. This is not the time to rail against the gods or take a vow of poverty.
Seeking justice is always praiseworthy, particularly while Venus is rewarding
all the fire signs. But her approval may be fleeting; the goddess moves into Virgo,
the sign of perfection and perfectibility, on July 14. The Capricorn full moon
this weekend emphasizes your finances and feelings.

Capricorn

Concentrate on the love, the unexpected gift, the heightened aesthetics and sensitivity
to pleasure that you get from Venus during her “marriage” to your
Saturn ruler. Although this is an annual astro-event, while Saturn has been transiting
regal Leo, you may feel entitled to more than one day in 365. No one but a self-abnegating
Aquarius or a Pisces, ruled by flip-flopping Neptune, would argue. Ignore them
and focus instead on the emotional high you can attain during the also-annual
Capricorn full moon. An expose of sorts.

Aquarius

An inkling that a financial turnaround is in the wind could be inferred as protective
Jupiter, even though it's retrograde, reaches out to your Uranus ruler,
also retrograde, in your Pisces money house. At this point, you'd be wise
to remind yourself that patience is the key to heaven, and that the actual payoff
may take a while. Jupiter turns direct in early August; Uranus, not until the
Thanksgiving weekend. Meanwhile, last week's forecast, e.g., the exceptionally
strong vibe coming from your Leo house of partners, is still very much in effect.

Pisces

The full moon this weekend is throwing light on a career matter, the stuff that
Capricorn ambition is so capable of handling without much input (no notes, please)
from you. Feel free to relax and enjoy whatever variation of domestic bliss the
family-centric Cancer sun is offering for the Fourth of July holiday. However,
you might want to pay attention to what you overhear this weekend when Mercury
retrograde crosses paths with the sun. This info could influence what you do post-holiday
when you have to go back to work.
