The weekend gets off to a fine start when beneficial Jupiter
rewards constructive Saturn at the same time that loving Venus is favoring passionate
Pluto. Money, progress, good luck and sex. Plus, and this is special for St. Patrick's
Day, Mercury's gift of gab. The Pisces new moon Sunday night is a partial
solar eclipse that we won't see. Plenty of shifts in attitude and consciousness
as amenable Venus enters tactile Taurus, Mercury returns to poetic Pisces, and
the sun crosses into Aries. The vernal equinox, the astrological New Year, begins
on Tuesday at 5:08 p.m. PDT.

Aries

To belittle or not to belittle? That is the question the Ram should be asking
while your acerbic Mars ruler confronts Saturn's tedious regulations. Because,
astrologically speaking, your irrepressible curiosity opposes that immovable mindset
only once every two years, decide whether you need to make a dramatic scene or
whether Father Time will provide a solution. Also this week, a matter of faith
bordering on fanaticism – on your team or in a charismatic leader? –
can get blown way out of proportion.

Taurus

No matter what is going on outside your door or in your head, you can take comfort
in the fact that your Venus ruler has come home to roost. With the goddess comfortably
lodged in Taurus, you won't encounter many problems you can't charm
your way out of. This includes resolving any mixed feelings about actively pursuing
a career goal or fulfilling a family obligation that would give you great satisfaction.
Although the odds seem stacked in favor of the gig and the glamour that surrounds
it, remember: It is a perception, not a sure thing.

Gemini

So much for clarity, i.e., the weeks that your Mercury ruler spent steeped in
the rational Aquarian thought process. Now that the Messenger has re-entered supersensitive
Pisces, the sign that governs the people you answer to, decide which role you
should take up now – the rebellious artist, the innovative technocrat or
the bridge over troubled waters. Once you realize that reasonable behavior is
no longer appropriate, let alone appreciated, navigating your way through the
chaos at work shouldn't be that big a deal.

Cancer

The Pisces new moon/solar eclipse last Sunday could have shown you how a Moon
Child can control a scene by the force of personality alone. You didn't
have to raise your voice or promise the moon; you simply had to be your own hyperaware
self. Understanding the historical roots and present-day intricacies of a situation,
as well as sensing how the people involved will react, is an innate gift you must
not take for granted. By the way, try to avoid getting dragged into a tug of war
between two opposing financial interests.

Leo

Even if she's not calling the shots, as long as Venus is at the top of your
solar chart, a woman will figure prominently in your life. For some, she'll
be a client or boss; for others, a bossy relative. If you're lucky, art
will replace gender, and you'll happily call yourself a slave to it. The
arrival of spring, i.e., your sun ruler's entrance into daring Aries, brings
a full month of benefits to Lions lying in wait for the fulfillment of a promise
made while Mercury was retrograde in your Aquarius house of significant others.

Virgo

The last thing a health-conscious Virgo needs to read is “attend to your
bodily concerns.” Nevertheless, while Mars, ruler of infections and injections,
joins forces with imaginative, but occasionally delusional, Neptune in your Aquarius
house of health, you're liable to convince yourself that you're sick.
You could also misinterpret the signs of an illness or become so inundated with
information that you overreact. And because your Mercury ruler is in Pisces, the
sign ruled by Neptune, these tendencies become magnified.

Libra

Bring on the crowds, or at least a few more folks than the one or two you've
been focused on. Now that your sociable Venus ruler is in sensual Taurus, the
pragmatic earth sign it also governs, you could crave a wider range of people
and pleasurable experiences; you could also recognize their potential for profitability.
Remember that there's still plenty of activity in your Aquarius house of
romance, recreation and risk, although the riskiest thing might be to fall for
the fantasy that glamorous Neptune is offering.

Scorpio

A cherished ideal you've held about family or, more likely, the houses you've
lived in could become a much bigger deal when your energetic Mars co-ruler meets
up with visionary Neptune. Enough daydreaming about how things might be; Mars
will provide the motivation to make these pictures materialize. Should you encounter
opposition from a stodgy source, such as Grandpa, assertive Mars will attack that
as well. Make the most of any opportunity that arises; it'll be another
two years before the Warrior visits your domain again.

Sagittarius

Gather your forces, e.g., your most cogent arguments, before challenging a long-standing
tradition or, just as likely, a tenured professor. The biannual opposition between
courageous Mars and calcified Saturn takes place across your axis of education
and communication. But if you're not an academic and you have no ax to grind,
then you might experience their problematic polarity when you're on the
road or on your computer. Even if push does come to shove, this time around, neither
outcome will take a measurable toll on you.

Capricorn

Keeping the dream alive (and making it pay off) may be the hardest thing you've
had to do in a while. Because macho Mars is opposing your cautious Saturn ruler,
there's a chance that the atmosphere surrounding a financial matter will
become strident. But once the god of war enters empathetic Pisces on Good Friday,
all will be, if not completely forgiven, then forgotten for a while. The fantasy
(Neptune in Aquarius) will regain its premier position, and you'll continue
to dream up ways to spend the money when you finally get it.

Aquarius

Take the time to scan the entire column for references to Mars and Neptune in
Aquarius, to learn how this dynamic duo will affect assorted signs. Also see if
Saturn in Leo is curbing anyone else's, besides your partner's, style.
Since confrontation seems to be the order of the day, you might prefer to give
your partner the upper hand, while you remain secure in the knowledge that having
macho Mars in your sign will kick anybody's ass. Partial solar eclipse notwithstanding,
now is a pretty good time for a new financial venture.

Pisces

This is another of those periods when the Fish and the Water Bearer are on a similar
course. That's because energetic Mars is adding oomph to your Neptune ruler
as, together, they transit Aquarius. If you're athletic, you'll benefit
from the surge of Mars' physical power; if you're artistic, then Martian
single-mindedness can help achieve an aesthetic goal. In either case, even an
innocent bystander may have to deal with, more likely ward off, the restrictions
Saturn has devised to impede your progress. Use the annual Pisces new moon to
start something new.
