A midwinter night's dream can shape the course you take
for the next two months; Thursday night's Aquarius-Leo full moon coincides
with Imbolc, Candlemas or Groundhog Day. What you call the ancient holiday depends
on which belief system you identify with and/or your tolerance for the damn movie.
Mercury entering Pisces on the 2nd begins a convoluted trip that won't end
until April 10, when it finally moves on to Aries. Check Pisces for the Mercury
retrograde dates. Affairs of the heart may undergo dramatic changes around the
7th, when romantic Venus bumps into erratic, erotic Uranus. Be aware of the surge
of faith that follows the sun's conjunction with impressionable Neptune
because, egged on by a grandiose Venus-Jupiter square, you could happily pay through
the nose.

Aries

It's the time of year when most of the planets are congregating at the top
of your solar chart, where your intelligence, ambition and social awareness thrive.
This leaves only a Saturnian sense of lack or loss in your Leo house of romance
and risk. Not a very promising prognosis for a happy Valentine's Day, but
if you've acquired a measure of maturity since last year, you'll be
grateful that you're not on another emotional roller coaster ride. Safe
and steady doesn't make the heart beat faster, plus it's good to know
that some relationships have legs.

Taurus

You could be in a fairly precarious position while your Venus ruler comes under
the influence of rebellious Uranus. Besides throwing caution to the wind, what,
or more to the point who, are you likely to give up? Just be aware that a few
days before Mercury turns retrograde on the 13th, Venus comes very close to accepting
a dare from boastful, go-for-broke Jupiter. Once you're on the road to wretched
excess, it'll be hard to turn back. Then, before you know it, you're
stuck with a lavish Valentine's Day celebration.

Gemini

Another heads up for Twins who take their Mercury ruler's comings and goings
seriously. Since the Messenger's retrogression begins on the 13th, be sure
to schedule mechanical and electrical repairs ASAP. Also, initiate contact with
the people you'll be dealing with during the rest of February and the first
half of March. Order communication devices and, if you'll be traveling during
this period, confirm all reservations. Don't wait until the last minute
to decide how you'll spend Valentine's Day. Forewarned, forearmed
= not disappointed.

Cancer

The most interesting astrological event this week is the annual marriage of loving
Venus and unpredictable Uranus in idealistic Pisces, a fellow water sign that
means you no harm. With nothing to fear but fear itself, you just might feel confident
enough to solidify your plans for an unusual, albeit romantic Valentine's
Day celebration. So what if argumentative Mars in your Capricorn partnership house
is acting up! Or that Mercury by turning retrograde can mess with your voice mail,
not to mention what it may do to your wheels.

Leo

While your sun ruler transits your Aquarius house of allies and antagonists, Lions
may feel a compulsion to pay more attention to the face across the table, the
voice on the other end of the phone. Practically speaking, this shift in perspective
can work to your advantage, especially while the sun radiates more light on productive
Saturn in your sign. Another shining example of patience being the key to heaven
couldn't hurt, nor would learning something about yourself you weren't
aware of. Quiz an authority on the subject.

Virgo

It doesn't have to be major; however what does occur during the days preceding
your Mercury ruler's change of direction on the 13th can have a significant
impact for weeks to come. Until then, follow your usual pre-retrograde drill,
e.g., make repairs, order stuff, verify bank balances, etc. How and why you're
involved with Pisces people might become the main point of Mercury's trip
through the sign of the Fish, a transit that doesn't end until Easter is
over. An Aquarius co-worker could also play a prominent part in this scenario.

Libra

One of the advantages of being born a Libra is having divinely appealing Venus
as your ruling planet. However, whenever the goddess forms a close relationship
with unruly Uranus, as she does on the 7th, there's no telling what will
happen or how you'll wind up feeling. Since these players hook up in Pisces,
either in your health and service area or, more likely, in your house of romance
and recreation, they can have a significant impact on how you'll spend Valentine's
Day 2007. Also on how expensive it'll be.

Scorpio

Read for Libra. Some Scorpions may be thrilled to be caught up in the drama that
an unforeseen event on Valentine's Day provokes. Others could be appalled
that they won't be able to control the outcome of what happens when rebellious
Uranus and affectionate Venus get together this week. However, all of you should
try to remember your dreams, because they may help you resolve a tricky family
matter, especially one that is dependent on a career decision you're reluctant
to make. Can it wait until May?

Sagittarius

Uranus, the Awakener, plays a pivotal role in how this month unfolds. Since Uranus
has been in dualistic Pisces since March 2003, by now you should have a working
knowledge of how this unpredictable force operates — sometimes it suddenly
hurls you into the future, sometimes it disrupts immediate plans for the present.
You might also realize what you can and can't do about these sporadic events.
So when amiable Venus merges with Uranus this week, don't be surprised if
a friendship falls apart — or your favorite relative behaves badly. Either
way, you get to pay.

Capricorn

The Sea Goat's spiritual and aesthetic tendencies come to the fore while
the creative sun merges with inspirational Neptune in Aquarius on the 8th. The
practical Capricorn we know, love and, more to the point, depend on manages to
show up, and show off, a few days later when the sun focuses on your authoritative
Saturn ruler's position in authoritative Leo. You get to have it both ways.
Just be aware that Mercury retrograde in your house of assets and income might
become more than a mere annoyance. Double check the figures.

Aquarius

It's time to retire the golden oldies and start humming another tune. If
ever you were primed to take on a new persona or assume a different role, now
would be the moment. Not only is your erratic Uranus ruler being energized by
sexy Mars; Uranus is also wrapped up in the arms of loving Venus. However, the
transformation goes way beyond the physical. Thanks to the annual merger of the
creative sun and visionary Neptune in Aquarius, your view of the future and the
part you were intending to play in it may also change.

Pisces

Since it can mess with your plans big time, try to keep track of Mercury's
meanderings over the next two months. The Messenger crosses from Aquarius to Pisces
on Groundhog Day, turns retrograde the night of the 13th at 10 Pisces, backs into
Aquarius on the 26th, goes direct on March 8th, re-enters Pisces on the 18th (the
day of the Pisces new moon/partial solar eclipse) and returns to 10 Pisces 10
days later. The little guy doesn't leave your sign until the egg salad concocted
from the Easter egg hunt is gone, April 10.
