Thursday's new moon at the tail end of Capricorn launches
the first complete lunar cycle of 2007. If your hopes for the new year seem unrealistically
high, thank or blame the exquisite coupling of Venus, goddess of love and beauty,
with idealistic Neptune in Aquarius, the intelligent air sign that is focused
on all of humanity. Early Saturday, the sun enters Aquarius to fortify those hopes.
Then along comes Monday, with its chilly opposition between Venus and restrictive
Saturn in Leo. Also the first of three tests that enthusiastic Jupiter in farseeing
Sagittarius and rebellious Uranus in faith-based Pisces spring on us during the
year. In no uncertain terms, the future is now.

Aries

Keep reminding yourself that until your Mars ruler leaves Capricorn at the end
of February, you're likely to receive accolades for excellence. The red
planet's exaltation in constructive, productive Capricorn enables you to
take a more organized approach to your career and your everyday life. No shooting
from the hip while the Warrior assumes the role of the Capricorn general. However,
if you devise a better game plan, now would be the time to set it in motion. Otherwise,
you might have to wait until Mars comes around again in two years.

Taurus

Sociable, sensuous Venus could give you a chill while your planetary ruler faces
restrictions laid down during her opposition to Saturn. Although you might prefer
to “make nice” with the humanitarian Aquarius elite before Venus begins
her swim through emotional, self-sacrificial Pisces on the 27th, Saturn in Leo
has a “to do” list waiting at home. Artists and musicians should find
legitimate escape routes because now is when Venus and idealistic Neptune are
getting together for one of their soul-searching sessions.

Gemini

The first of three challenging squares between expansive Jupiter in your partnership
house and unpredictable Uranus in your career midheaven can set off shock waves
in those areas. You're liable to experience an attack of nerves or unwarranted
enthusiasm, but did you ever think you'd want to join the Geek Squad? Uranus
rules the high-tech world; Jupiter loves to teach and preach. They'll do
their dance in religious, philosophical, judicial and scientific circles until
October. Publishing too. Sometimes you join in, other times you get to watch.

Cancer

Try to stay grounded. Romantic Venus merging with impressionable Neptune in your
Aquarius house of sex magick and joint checking accounts can transport you to
dizzying heights. And then dump you. You might actually be thankful that cautious,
constrictive Saturn in your Leo house of personal assets could cushion that fall
by citing “lack of funds.” No matter how the opposition affects you,
know that your imagination can be held in check through the summer. Not such a
bad thing if you don't want to go over budget.

Leo

Since it is earthbound Saturn in your sign that is currently holding the fort,
people might turn to you when they need a reality check. Be prepared to play the
voice of experience to the young and foolish, to lend a helping hand to a questioning
co-worker, to step in where angels fear to tread. After all, while your sun ruler
is in your Aquarius house of allies and cosmic soul mates, the light tends to
shine brightly on the other guy or guys. Right now, Mercury, Neptune and Venus
are also bouncing around airy Aquarius.

Virgo

Like your mutable Gemini colleagues, Virgo tends to react instantly to whatever
surprise is sprung when erratic Uranus in your Pisces house of significant others
is challenged by Jupiter to be more truthful, more generous and more of a risk
taker. You could also be enticed to hop a flight or launch a site, both with and
without a partner. Mercury, your erstwhile ruling planet, helps you clarify your
thoughts, especially about health-related matters, while it passes through Aquarius,
the sign that thinks outside the box.

Libra

As it deplaned from aeronautic Aquarius, your Venus ruler made strong connections
to ethereal Neptune, earthbound Saturn and otherworldly Pluto. Look for representatives
of these cosmic energies to show up in the next few days. One will inspire you,
another can teach you how the real world works, and the third might turn you into
a closet-case sexaholic. You'll probably feel like doing penance while Venus
passes through the sign of the forgiving Fish from January 27 until Ash Wednesday.
Mardi Gras, however, should be a blast!

Scorpio

You could sit up and take notice when “bigger is better” Jupiter in
your Sagittarius money house gets zapped by trendsetting Uranus. This is the first
of three challenging squares formed during 2007 by the planets interested in the
wave of the future. Any idea that strikes you as fortuitous shouldn't be
shelved. You might not get official confirmation until the second square at the
end of October, but while Jupiter is retrograde for the summer, you'll be
developing and refining your brilliant concept.

Sagittarius

Read for Scorpio for a timeline. Since your Jupiter ruler is planted in your own
sun sign this year, its benefits are not limited to finances and assets. Any number
of growth experiences in various areas of your life can take you to another level
of personal development. Therefore, it's important that you recognize whatever
eureka moment innovative Uranus presents during the first of their challenging
squares this week. Whether you embrace it and make it your very own, only time,
and the next two squares, will tell.

Capricorn

Conflicted over a money matter? Be it a small or a large potato, whenever tasteful,
tactful Venus opposes your Saturn ruler, you need to step back and assess your
latest desire. Will you be advocating peace and harmony or has a romantic fantasy
already displaced common sense? Friends with money may figure into your latest
communication, education or transportation project, but if you're acquiring
expensive equipment, you'd better know exactly what you're doing.
Their enthusiasm won't mean much if you're left to your own devices.

Aquarius

Even a shy, retiring Aquarius could be shoved into the spotlight while the creative
sun, clear-thinking Mercury, idealistic Neptune and, before the goddess dives
into Pisces on the 27th, magnetic Venus transit your sign. Make art, make sense,
make love. This week, your nontraditional Uranus ruler and protective Jupiter
complete the first of their three provocative squares. Be alert to opportunities
to expand your universe and your reputation courtesy of colleagues with money.
You'll probably have to invest as well.

Pisces

Divine inspiration as your Neptune ruler is contacted first by art maven Venus,
then by discerning Mercury in Aquarius. The first meeting could be ethereal, possibly
ecstatic; the second provides the words that best express your experience. Artists
and poets should be thrilled. Dyed-in-the-wool romantics (the Pisces population
in general) can begin their annual flirtation fest as soon as magnetic Venus enters
your sign on the 27th. For more info related to Uranus in Pisces, read for Aquarius,
Sagittarius, Scorpio and Gemini.
