Feb. 8-14, 2008
Wednesday's solar eclipse is still very much in effect,
as is the Aquarius new-moon energy. Just because you're committed to celebrating
the Year of the Rat, you needn't put off starting whatever else you had
in mind. True, Mercury won't go direct until the 18th, and you'd have
to be born with Mercury retrograde to get past that no-no. Still, a trailblazing
Aries moon Sunday and Monday should be good for something besides dim sum. Tuesday's
Taurus moon is both productive and seductive, with an emphasis on the latter.
Although Valentine's Day comes with the “I can't make up my
mind” Gemini moon, the harmonious trine between passionate Mars and the
sun rewards shutting up before putting out.

Aries

Writers with a cause to promote, lawyers pleading a case, and adherents to a high-minded
principle can do very well this week simply by following their passion. After
a long time in retrograde, reviewing positions, considering options, your zealous
Mars ruler has returned you to warrior mode. Note that while the red planet is
in literate Gemini this month, the pen is truly mightier than the sword. Also
note that you are not alone. Colleagues and fellow partisans are also being energized
by the Aquarius sun's favorable trine to Mars.

Taurus

Photographers, makeup artists, painters, actors, dancers and musicians, even religious
fanatics, will be inspired by the merger of the creative sun and imaginative Neptune.
But, more to the point, the conjunction in your Aquarius career house could also
direct serious cash your way. A rewarding trine between the sun and ballsy Mars
in your Gemini money house suggests that instead of waiting, hat in hand, you
should make your desires/demands known, both vocally and in writing. A lot has
happened since mid-September, when Mars, at the same degree as now, was part of
a challenging square with the Virgo sun.

Gemini

Since Mars is beginning to move ahead in Gemini, if you read for the above two
signs you'll get a better idea of what can happen to you this week. Even
if you're not in line for the Bull's big bucks, you can be inspired
artistically and spiritually, and that should assuage some of your uneasiness
about the future. Remember that having unpredictable Uranus at the top of your
chart year after year might have put you permanently on edge, wondering when or
if the other shoe is ever going to drop, also if it'll smell of dog shit.
Lucky you.

Cancer

Other people's money and the fibs they tell about it could well become your
main focus this week. The rational Aquarius sun's merger with Mercury retrograde
sets the tone for the sun's conjunction with evasive Neptune on Sunday.
If nothing worse than a bigger question mark comes out of that meeting, consider
yourself fortunate. Also remind yourself that because wise Jupiter is in your
Capricorn house of allies all year, you needn't rely solely on your own
interpretation of what's what. You've got a friend.

Leo

Artists who work in tandem or in groups can find a way to maximize the creative
energy emanating from the three planets in your Aquarius complement. Mercury,
although in retrograde, does the research and rewrites the proposal; artsy Neptune
provides the set, the costumes, the music, etc.; and your sun ruler adds the vitality
that brings the project together. Because these planets form a supportive trine
to spirited Mars in Gemini, ruler of the chattering class, there's a good
chance the collaboration will receive favorable reviews.

Virgo

Whether or not it works to your advantage, Virgos will be glad to learn that your
Mercury ruler backs out of your sixth house of work and health in time for Valentine's
Day. By the 14th, the Messenger will be ensconced in your fifth house of romance
and recreation, doing what it usually does to disrupt your plans. Perhaps an ex-lover
will inconveniently stop by or the restaurant won't find your reservation?
No matter, while affectionate Venus in earth-sign-friendly Capricorn travels through
that zone, a heartfelt experience is guaranteed.

Libra

Nothing can get a lazy Libra off his or her cute butt faster than a supportive
trine from energetic Mars, finally moving forward, in airy Gemini, the sign that
rules 747s. This eruption of desire is accompanied by a rewarding trine from the
Aquarius sun in your house of recreation and risk. Whether romance fits into the
scenario depends on how deep an impression impressionable Neptune, also in Aquarius,
makes. But if you want to stay in bed and imagine what could have been, remember
that home is where the heart (and the chocolate) is.

Scorpio

You're still being tested by stuff going on at your house or among family
members you can't control. That's tough, because the fixed signs —
yours, Taurus, Leo and Aquarius — are always jostling for the upper hand.
Let's hope that a favorable trine from the reasonable Aquarius sun to your
rash Mars co-ruler will help you resolve an issue about other people's money.
Your best bet for Valentine's Day is to be spontaneous and original, just
as inventive Uranus, by now a fixture in your Pisces house of romance, would suggest.

Sagittarius

Home alone? If you're online a lot, you won't feel forlorn for long.
Happily for the Archer, this week could be chock-full of hopeful, intelligent
communication being beamed to you from Mercury, idealistic Neptune and the sun,
all in future-oriented, humanitarian Aquarius. Whether you're exchanging
views on politics or people, social issues or social scenes, you'll be amazed
at the connections you'll make before you need to decide what you're
doing for Valentine's Day. Some of those ideas should help you deal with
macho Mars in your house of allies and antagonists.

Capricorn

The attention you've been paying to assets and acquisitions might not last
much longer; on the 18th, the bright light of the Aquarius sun switches to the
cloudy depths of watery Pisces. That's also when Mercury comes out of retrograde.
By then, magnetic Venus will have left your sign, taking that aura of irresistibility
with it. However, not before the goddess does her damnedest to make sure that
Valentine's Day 2008 is as romantic, as emotionally satisfying, as you anticipate.
Much better than last year, when she was no longer around.

Aquarius

Happy birthday to the Water Bearers I know, all born between today and the 15th.
Are we friends because your sun sextiles mine, or is it because my natal Mars
conjuncts your sun? Will we get together around Valentine's Day, when fiery
Mars in my Gemini house of allies perfects a rewarding trine to your Aquarius
planets? Might we hook up because horny Mars is in your Gemini house of romance
and risks? Now that the red planet has been out of retrograde for a week, how
do you feel? And what sign or signs is that desire directed toward? Yours, mine
or the Twins?

Pisces

It's a wide-open weekend for hungry Fish. Celebrate the Chinese New Year
while you're being backlit by the romantic Pisces moon Thursday night and
all of Friday and Saturday. You could also pull off something special on Sunday,
when your glamorous Neptune ruler and the sun merge in future-friendly, tech-savvy
Aquarius. A dualistic Gemini moon on Valentine's Day may provide two options:
stay home or, if slash-and-burn Mars has your place in disrepair, stay at someone
else's home. Either way, you can have your way with him, or her, or the
Twins!
