Despite all the high-powered meetings ??? media-centric
Mercury conjuncts fearless Mars and protective Jupiter in Sagittarius; Mars teams
up with Jupiter to launch another enterprise that'll change the culture
??? this week is quite social. Romantic Venus shifts out of playful Sag, where
she's been claiming to “love the one you're with” and
settles into safe, respectable Capricorn on Sunday for three-plus weeks of traditional
courting. However, by the time your New Year's hangover is over, the goddess
will be moving on.

Aries

Smart as a whip and just as cutting, especially while clever Mercury conjuncts
your Mars ruler this weekend. But if you can restrain your pleasure in showing
off, those pithy comments of yours won't draw blood. A friendly, appreciative
and well-heeled audience is more likely to support your latest enterprise. Every
two years or so, when Mars meets up with growth-oriented Jupiter, Rams get a glimpse
at what the future holds. Pay marked attention as the workweek begins, because
that opportunity is just around the corner.

Taurus

So much for winging it. That adventurous, impromptu approach comes to an end on
the 10th, when your Venus ruler abandons “anything goes” Sagittarius
for the disciplined domain of the Goat. Capricorn tends to emphasize the sensible,
yet sensitive and socially aware, side of Taurus, an interest common to all the
earth signs. Not that you'll necessarily be donating more time, energy and
money to charitable causes, but year-end transactions can grab your attention
and hold it. Don't dawdle: Venus leaves Capricorn for Aquarius on January
3.

Gemini

Since you have your very own Sagittarius seer, try to pay attention when I tell
you that this is the time to act, to stop weighing the pros and cons, to finally
make some sort of decision. It's been quite a while since your prospects
for getting sucked into a long-term, meaningful relationship have been this promising;
years since your Mercury ruler gave you so many opportunities to interact with
so many of the other personal planets. If not now, in the midst of the jolly holiday
party season, when? After Mercury enters pragmatic Capricorn?

Cancer

There's still some life left in your playboy/playgirl persona. Don't
feel obliged to sacrifice the fun stuff to satisfy the family's wishes just
yet. It's a fairly safe bet that you'll survive another adventure,
especially while daredevil Mars comes under Jupiter's protective wing this
weekend. If you're also motivated to chase after your next fortune by feeding
a public hungry for recreation, go right ahead. Just remember that while Venus
transits your Capricorn house of partners, you'll be more dependent on someone
else's good opinion.

Leo

Seal the deal. Whether it's a romance or a business arrangement or a bit
of both, this is the time to take advantage of whatever opportunity is offered
during your sun ruler's sextile to idealistic Neptune this weekend. Although
Neptune is often unclear in its intention, when it is favorably aligned with the
creative, openhearted sun, chances are you'll be inspired to act selflessly,
as will your partner. Doing good, meaning well, and, appropriately enough, in
time for year-end bonuses, gift giving and receiving.

Virgo

Conveniently enough, the planetary forces are bunched together in the zone where
neighbors, former schoolmates and family congregate. You might show some interest
in a co-worker and the oddest of the odd partners you've accumulated over
the years, but they won't be as big a deal this holiday season as the folks
in shouting, phoning and e-mailing range. However, there is no guarantee that
interacting with them will be pleasant. As the weekend begins, your critical Mercury
ruler has a run-in with aggressive Mars; as it ends, a meeting with boastful,
blowhard Jupiter.

Libra

A slightly different approach is introduced soon after your Venus ruler leaves
“happy-go-lucky” Sagittarius for “plan well-ahead,” behave-responsibly
Capricorn on Sunday. Once embedded in that traditional earth sign, Venus will
claim its rightful place (the higher up the social ladder, the better) until January
3, when the progressive, humanitarian Aquarius vibe takes over. Meanwhile, the
planets that remain in sporty Sag will continue to make sure that you are amused,
possibly even delighted, by the passing parade. Plus, the family won't give
you any grief.

Scorpio

Opportunity knocks when your audacious Mars co-ruler bumps into prosperous, protective
Jupiter as the workweek begins. That they meet in optimistic Sagittarius, the
sign ruling your house of acquisitions and assets, suggests that making significant
amounts of money will be a major factor in how you experience 2007. While Mars
might not have much staying power ??? it prefers the thrill of the new ???
it can encourage you to take the first step. Count on your other ruler, Pluto,
for providing the patience your venture will need.

Sagittarius

In the beginning was the word. That should arrive around the time verbal Mercury
merges with truth-seeking Mars on Saturday. Properly stoked, Mercury next meets
with Jupiter, your enthusiastic ruling planet, in your sign on Sunday, and together
they form plans for publishing, broadcasting or otherwise spreading your interpretation
of the “word.” The crucial moment comes as Mars and Jupiter conjoin
on Monday. Whether you personally are the project unleashed on the world or if
it's an offshoot of your specialized knowledge isn't as important
as getting it launched is.

Capricorn

Instead of a holiday gift wish list, make a dream list. Seriously, this weekend,
sleep is the state that'll reveal what you really, truly desire. And don't
limit that list to material things, not if you dream about chasing after someone
or moving cross-country. A lot of planetary action is taking place in mobile Sagittarius,
in your house of karma and your subconscious, so any image that rises to the surface
(and is remembered) should be explored. An agreeable professional or an enlightened
colleague can be more help than you imagine.

Aquarius

As if an Aquarian needs a more active social life! Well, it can't be helped.
Not while magnetic Venus, passionate Pluto and the party-loving Sagittarius sun
congregate in your house of professional colleagues, casual friends, and assorted
acquaintances from various walks of life. They appear to be drawn to you via glamorous
Neptune in your sign. What sort of image are you projecting? P.S. Since there
is also planetary action in your career midheaven, be sure to laugh at the boss's
jokes and otherwise show some interest.

Pisces

Not only is this the season to be jolly, it's also the time to be gainfully
employed. With so many planets in your Sagittarius career house, it'll be
nigh impossible to avoid the wonderful opportunities being offered, or, if you're
feeling truly lazy, to dodge them without making waves. Of course, if you're
the boss or the latest prizewinning poet, then you can't help but accept
the accolades and awards. But inveterate horse players and sports fans can make
out just fine, thanks to lucky Jupiter at the top.
