A luxurious, lazy atmosphere for the holiday that honors the working stiff? Why not? Whenever Venus and Jupiter pool their considerable benefits, you're bound to have a swell time, especially when they're in sociable Libra. The worst-case scenario: wretched excess. On Friday, Pluto in Sagittarius comes out of retrograde. On Saturday, the Virgo sun and moon meet and launch a new lunar cycle. On Sunday, Mercury enters Virgo, the cautious earth sign it rules, for a little over two weeks. On Monday, the usual Labor Day rituals.

Aries

For the past year, about as long as lucky Jupiter has been
in Libra, Rams have been told to expect something from a partnership
arrangement that'll make a significant improvement. If up to now you haven't
been impressed by the size of the contribution or the growth of the
relationship, be aware that the big payoff might arrive this weekend, when
beneficial Venus merges with even more beneficial Jupiter. But if nothing to
write home about comes your way this month, another window could fly open when
the Libra sun conjuncts Jupiter on October 21.

Taurus

Try to maintain an even keel over the long holiday weekend.
Too much of a good thing – too much glorious food, too much socializing, even
too much righteous indignation – can blow everything else out of proportion.
While your all-embracing Venus ruler meets with expansive, enthusiastic
Jupiter, bigger is not necessarily better. Over-the-top is more like it. The
Virgo new moon on Saturday can introduce a new element into your love life, a
person or a practice that is relatively down-to-earth without being prosaic.

Gemini

As luck would have it, this may be the best weekend of the
year for you to go on holiday. Venus and Jupiter, the planets that bestow
popularity, pleasure and good fortune, are in your Libra house of recreation
and romance. More important, they are both rewarding all things Gemini.
Aquarius is also doing okay, so if you can hook up with one of those individualists,
you could have an even better time. Meanwhile, your Mercury ruler lingers on
the cusp of warm-hearted Leo, preparing to enter Virgo, the other intelligent
sign it rules, on Sunday.

Cancer

The trick for a Moon Child is to adopt, for the time being,
the qualities of the sign in which the new moon takes place. For example, on
Saturday, Luna and Sol meet in Virgo and initiate a cycle that emphasizes the
need for sufficient, accurate information. That Virgo also rules your third house
of short trips, sales, education and communication underscores how important
that area of your life will be over the next four weeks. Happily, practical
Virgo plays well with sensitive Cancer, behaving a bit like a Boy Scout:
helpful, trustworthy, eager to serve and score points along the way.

Leo

Pluto turning direct Friday in your Sagittarius house of
fun and games suggests that romance, and risky and recreational activities, are
about to awaken from their long spring-summer nap. And what to your wondrous
eyes will appear? A generous gift from the happy-go-lucky Venus-Jupiter hookup
in Libra. That Venus is also glad to see Pluto in a new light could lead to a
more passionate encounter than you anticipated. The Virgo new moon in your money
house introduces a new financial matter replete with details that need to be
carefully worked out.

Virgo

Why shouldn't you be feted this Labor Day weekend? Be glad that the elegant,
enthusiastic coupling of Venus and Jupiter takes place in your Libra house of
income and expenditures. Since both planets, each in their own way, offer boons
and benefits, you could wind up amassing a sizable stash. But if instead of
the gold watch, what you get is a sense of accomplishment and warm-hearted pats
on the back, those emotions just might suffice. The Virgo new moon suggests
that for the next four weeks, you're the go-to guy or gal.

Libra

It can't be said too often. This weekend is the last time your beneficial Venus
ruler merges with even more beneficial Jupiter in your very own sign. Not for
another 12 years will this indicator of personal growth and good fortune take
place. Sure, Venus and Jupiter get together every year, and the goodies they
come up with can be welcome additions, unless they're meeting in challenging
cardinal signs. But that only occurs every three or four years. As for this
time around, be sure the coveted brass ring doesn't slip out of your grasp.

Scorpio

If things, particularly financial matters, aren't progressing fast enough to
suit you, your Pluto co-ruler's change of direction this weekend could speed
them up. Five months in retrograde is long enough to frustrate the most patient
person, someone you never claimed to be. Meanwhile, the Virgo new moon is poised
to introduce a fresh attitude about one element of your career. Nothing too
ambitious or glitzy; more likely, small improvements that'll result in greater
efficiency. A seasonal tune-up.

Sagittarius

The changes taking place over the holiday weekend can be both subtle and substantial.
Pluto coming out of a deep sleep in Sagittarius might not have an immediate
effect, but if you suddenly see room for improvement, particularly in the way
you look, that's a sign of Pluto rising. I won't exaggerate the benefits inherent
in the Venus-Jupiter meeting in sociable Libra; a really good time is par for
the course. However, the sun-moon conjunction in virtuous Virgo, in your career
midheaven, could herald the start of an assignment that suits you to a T.

Capricorn

There's an excellent chance that you'll be pleasantly surprised
when Venus and Jupiter join forces in your Libra midheaven this weekend. A well-meaning
woman, perhaps Lady Luck herself, may present an opportunity to score major
bucks or achieve an impressive social success. “Magnificent” and “munificent”
are adjectives associated with gigantic Jupiter, whereas vivacious Venus consorts
with values and valuables. Together they make for a good marriage; however,
it might take years before the benefits derived from their combined assets show
up in your r??sum??.

Aquarius

Mercury entering Virgo on Sunday officially ends the Lion's influence on your
daily comings and goings. But because Leo rules your marriage house, partners
may continue to call more than their fair share of the shots affecting both
parties. Things could change after the discerning Virgo new moon lends a more
finely tuned ear to the nuances of your interactions. Nevertheless, for the
next two years, while restrictive Saturn transits Leo, a close relationship
might not be as carefree or as easy to maintain as it once was.

Pisces

Sometimes it's barely noticeable, sometimes anything related
to Pluto, such as its change of direction this weekend, is about as subtle as
a fist in your face. Or, in polite company, a twist of the arm. The power failures
and power grabs that do occur could affect your career. However, you're more
likely to concentrate on the changes the new moon has up its sleeve, because
that event takes place in your Virgo house of partners. Expect a lot of back-and-forth
action with allies and antagonists alike.
