Woman Killed in Pedestrian Collision near Santa Ana Avenue

RIALTO, CA (July 5, 2023) – Monday night, police arrested Roberto Mojo-Sanchez after a fatal hit-and-run on South Riverside Avenue. The incident occurred around 11:15 p.m., at the 2500 block of South Riverside Avenue near Santa Ana Avenue. Based on the initial investigation, a woman was walking near Riverside Avenue when a vehicle struck her. The driver of the the vehicle, Roberto Mojo-Sanchez, did not stop to render aid to the women and instead fled the scene. Investigators also believe that several other vehicles hit the victim as she was lying in the roadway. Emergency crews arrived at the site of the collision shortly after and pronounced the woman dead at the scene. On June 14th, a resident’s tip call helped the authorities to identify and arrest the suspect. 50-year-old Roberto Mojo-Sanchez of Colton was detained and booked into West Valley Detention Center for hit-and-run. Authorities later recovered the suspect’s vehicle from his family member’s home in San Bernardino. Officials set Mojo-Sanchez’s bail to $500,000.
