Two-Vehicle Collision in Grantville Left One 95-Year-Old Man Dead

SAN DIEGO, CA (March 21, 2023) – Late Monday morning, Robert Sherman George was declared dead following a head-on collision in Grantville.

The fatal incident happened just after 11:20 a.m. near 4200 Camino Del Rio North, per responding officers.

According to the report, a 1988 Toyota pickup going traveling west crossed into the center turn lane. Subsequently, the pickup collided head-on with an eastbound 2019 Honda SUV, west of Fairmont.

Responding medical personnel transported the Toyota driver to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, a 77-year-old woman driving the Honda complained about chest pains related to the crash.

Unfortunately, the Toyota driver succumbed to his injuries at the hospital on March 13th. The San Diego medical examiner’s office identified the deceased victim as 95-year-old Robert Sherman George.

No one has provided an update on the Honda driver’s condition or the cause of the crash at this time.
