77-Year-Old Man Dies in Auto Accident near Hazard Avenue

WESTMINSTER, CA (June 13, 2022) – Tuesday morning, 77-year-old Robert Polino Avila was killed in a fatal collision on Goldenwest Street.

Police responded to the scene around 5:35 a.m., in the 14500 block of Goldenwest Street. However, the events leading up to the incident remain unclear.

For reasons unknown, multiple vehicles collided in the area. Authorities later identified one of the involved drivers as Avila. Due to the extent of his condition, medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.

Avila was a guard for twelve years, but initial investigation states that he was not on duty when the crash happened.

Other injuries were reported, and paramedics transported other victims to UC Irvine Medical Center for further treatment.
