18-Year-Old Killed in Pedestrian Accident near West Avenue L

QUARTZ HILL, CA (October 4, 2022) – Last Sunday, police responded to a crash on 42nd Street West involving Robert Moreno. The incident happened on September 25th at around 10:07 p.m. at the intersection of 42nd Street West and West Avenue L. According to police, a pedestrian walking in the westbound lanes for unknown reasons. Afterward, a 2004 Honda Element traveling in the westbound lanes struck the victim. Furthermore, the pedestrian identified as an 18-year-old resident of Lancaster was pronounced dead at the scene. Both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. Meanwhile, the driver was identified as 52-year-old Robert Moreno. He sustained no injuries and cooperated with the authorities. Further investigation is underway. Any witnesses are to contact the authorities at the Antelope Valley CHP Office at 661-948-8541.
