18-Year-Old Killed in Pedestrian Accident near West Avenue L

QUARTZ HILL, CA (October 4, 2022) – Sunday night, Robert Moreno was involved in a pedestrian crash on 42nd Street West.

The incident happened on September 25th around 10:07 p.m., at the intersection of 42nd Street West and West Avenue L.

According to police, a pedestrian was walking in the westbound lanes for reasons unknown. Afterward, a 2004 Honda Element traveling in the westbound lanes struck the victim.

Officers later pronounced the victim, an 18-year-old resident of Lancaster, dead at the scene.

Both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

Meanwhile, the driver was identified as 52-year-old Robert Moreno. He sustained no injuries and cooperated with the authorities.

Further investigation is underway.
