48-Year-Old Man Dies in Fatal Accident near N West Avenue

FRESNO, CA (March 30, 2021) – Thursday afternoon on March 11, 48-Year-Old Man Robert Makoni was killed in a fiery crash on Bullard Avenue.

The crash occurred around 3:30 p.m., near the intersection of Bullard and West Avenue.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Marks and Browning to check on the driver of the utility van.

The man was found by police, but he sped away from the scene a short time later. Officers started a chase, but it was called off due to unsafe circumstances.

The utility van went on and collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Bullard and West.

The van is said to have caught fire after the collision, and Makoni was pronounced dead at the scene.

Further investigation of this accident is still ongoing. More information will be provided as soon as it is available.
