Head-On Accident near Limestone Canyon Regional Park Left One Fatality

ORANGE COUNTY, CA (January 18, 2023) – Friday afternoon, Robert Joseph Nicoletti was pronounced dead after a three-vehicle collision on Santiago Canyon Road. The fatal incident happened around 3:40 p.m., just east of the Limestone Canyon Regional Park, per responding authorities. According to reports, the driver of a southbound Ferrari on Santiago Canyon Road was traveling at a high rate of speed down a curve in the roadway. Consequently, the Ferrari driver collided head-on with a Toyota Venza, driven by Pauline Bui, before crashing into a Mazda, driven by Daniel Ryan. Investigators said the Ferrari driver was ejected from the vehicle as it was also split in half due to the collision. The Ferrari driver, identified as 71-year-old Nicoletti of Rancho Santa Margarita, was pronounced dead at the scene due to the extent of his injuries. Responding medical personnel transported Bui to Orange County Global Medical Center and her passenger to Mission Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Paramedics also rushed Ryan to Mission Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Orange County Officials closed both directions of the roadway to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. An active investigation is currently ongoing.
