On February 8, Robert Jalomo was shot and killed in the 600 block of West I Street by a suspect riding a bicycle.

Jalomo was discovered on the street with several gunshot wounds around 2:20 a.m., said Ed Winter of the coroner's office. The Los Angeles Times reported paramedics arrived about 15 minutes later and pronounced the 35-year-old Latino man dead.

According to City News Service, the alleged bicyclist-shooter fired at and hit another victim after killing Jalomo.

The other victim was taken to a hospital and was in stable condition at the time of the shooting.

It was unclear whether the suspect who shot Jalomo was the same person who shot the unnamed victim, said LAPD officials.

The “bike-by” happened a block from a very busy section of West Anaheim Street, which is home to restaurants, markets and retail stores.
