57-Year-Old Driver Killed in Fatal Car Accident on Santa Ana Avenue

FONTANA, CA (June 11, 2021)Robert Holmes, 57, of Fontana, was identified as the driver who was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Citrus Avenue on Sunday afternoon.

The accident happened around 12:45 in the afternoon of June 6. Officers arrived at the intersection of Citrus and Santa Ana Avenue shortly after.

According to Fontana police, an Acura SUV traveling east on Santa Ana Avenue collided with a Mercedes sedan traveling north on Citrus Avenue. The Mercedes then spun out of control and collided with a traffic signal pole as a result of the collision.

Despite the efforts of emergency personnel to save his life, Holmes was declared dead at the hospital. However, there were no other injuries reported. It is still unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

At this time, police have not released any additional information. Although, an active investigation remains ongoing.
