The man who was in critical condition after a car-to-car shooting in Watts has died. According to police reports, the car-to-car shooting between the two drivers occurred near 92nd Street and Holmes Avenue about 11:35 p.m. February 28.

Ricardo Mendoza, 27, was driving a 1998 Honda Civic west on 92nd street alongside a 2000 Ford Mustang driven by 23-year-old Robert Gipson. The two men exchanged gunfire. Mendoza's Honda stopped a short distance away, and the Mustang crashed into a nearby utility pole.

Mendoza died at the scene, and Gipson was taken to a nearby hospital. Gipson died from his injuries on March 19. Anyone with more information about the shooting should contact LAPD Southeast Division detectives at case (213) 485-4341.
