37-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed in Deadly Accident near Garden Drive

OROVILLE, CA (July 15, 2022) – Tuesday morning, police responded to a hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of Robert Danforth.

According to Butte County Sheriffs, the incident happened on July 5 around 4:00 a.m., on Highway 70.

Reports say that Danforth was walking along the highway when he was struck by a passing vehicle.

Emergency medical services arrived at the scene and located Danforth with life-threatening injuries. Due to the extent of his condition, medics pronounced him dead at the scene.

The involved vehicle is described as a 2005-2007 Ford Super Duty or Ford Excursion. The driver of the Ford left the scene shortly after the collision.
