67-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck near La Brea Avenue

SANTA MONICA, CA (August 9, 2022)  Early Tuesday morning, 67-year-old Robert Brown was killed in a pedestrian accident on 10 Freeway.

The crash occurred around 3:58 a.m., along the eastbound lanes of the freeway, just west of La Brea Avenue. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

According to reports, the driver of a vehicle struck the male pedestrian in the area. However, further events leading up to the incident remain unknown.

The LA County Corner’s office declared 67-year-old Brown, dead at the scene.

Furthermore, the crews closed four lanes of 10 Freeway for an extended period of time to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. At thsi time, Santa Monica Police continue to investigate the fatal crash and will release updates once available.
