Traffic Collision on Highway 299 Left Motorcyclist Hurt

TRINITY COUNTY, CA (August 2, 2022) – Wednesday night, a two-vehicle crash on Highway 299 left 42-year-old Robert Binder with major injuries.

The incident occurred on July 27th, at around 8:20 p.m., after a Binder’s motorcycle, going westbound on Highway 299, crossed the double yellow lines. The motorcycle then collided with a second car going east on Highway 299. The force of the impact ejected Binder from his vehicle, and he sustained severe injuries. The driver 0f the eastbound vehicle fled the scene.

Medical responders arrived at the scene shortly after and transported Robert Binder to Mercy Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

At this time, the identity of the other involved driver is currently unknown. Those with further information regarding the Highway 299 crash are encouraged to contact Trinity County Officials as soon as possible.
