If you rob a store — and we don't recommend it — make sure it's not around the corner from a police station, because this is what happens:

You get shot at not by one officer but by as many as three. Then you die. That's the story from the LAPD this week after man allegedly robbed a market on Skid Row just down the street from the Central Division station:

Cops say it started about 9:20 a.m. on May 1 when a detective driving on Fifth Street was about to pull into an LAPD lot on Wall Street and heard gunfire.

The detective says he saw a suspect crouching inside the Green Apple Market (300 E. Fifth St.) and squeezing off rounds.

That officer opened fire, according to an LAPD statement, but cops weren't done yet: At least two officers from the elite Metropolitan Division happened to be riding a few cars back when it all happened.

As the suspect walked their way and pointed a gun at them, they got out of the car they were in and also opened fire, police said.

The man, later identified as Kenneth Miller, went down and was scooped off the sidewalk by paramedics only to perish at a hospital, according to the LAPD.

Not only did cops find a .38 revolver on him, but they also recovered a Tec-9 semiautomatic pistol at the market, the LAPD says.

And that's how not to rob a market.

Any witnesses, by the way, were asked to call investigators at 213-486-5230.
