Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 99 near Dillard Road Left Road Closed

ELK GROVE, CA (January 3, 2022)On Thursday, a two-vehicle crash on Highway 99 caused road closures and major traffic backups.

According to authorities, the accident happened at around 6:30 a.m. along southbound Highway 99 south of Dillard Road.

Furthermore, reports say a big rig crashed into a small vehicle in the area.

Consequently, the crash sent the smaller car under the big rig.

Additionally, officers found a fuel leak from the collision.

Responding officers currently have no information about the factors that caused the crash. However, no injuries were reported at this time.

Furthermore, authorities closed off the lanes for several hours but has since reopened.

Elk Grove police continue to investigate the two-vehicle crash at Highway 99.
