Road rage plagues the nation. But nobody does it like Southern California, a true pioneer in getting into beefs over miscommunication and minor slights on the street.

Police today said a 31-year-old woman and her 32-year-old passenger were killed as a result of her unprecedented fit of anger behind the wheel in the Inland Empire community of Rialto this week.

Luckily her two children, seated in the back of the car the woman was driving, survived and remain in “serious but stable” condition at a hospital, cops told us:

It all started shortly after midnight yesterday when the Yvette Pulido got into it with a 23-year-old man in another car over who-knows-what, Rialto police Sgt. Richard Royce told the Weekly.

This was at the 210 freeway and Cactus Avenue, he said. The parties ended up headed south on Cactus, he said, until they were stopped at Metrolink tracks as a train went by, the sergeant said.

At that point Pulido allegedly rammed the victims car, spun a U-turn, and sped off in an attempt “to get away,” Royce said.

But then she lost control of the vehicle “and hit a tree at a high rate of speed,” he said.

Pulido and passenger Martin Serrano were pronounced dead at the scene, the sergeant said. Her children were injured: A 6-year-old suffered “broken femurs,” he said, and a 1-year-old sustained “multiple lacerations.”

The road rage victim was uninjured, Royce said.

The San Bernardino coroner's office was to conduct an autopsy to determine if maybe Pulido was under the influence of anything besides irrational anger.
