Craig Taggart and Chris Pudlo know that it takes a real man to wear women's shoes. In Rise 'n' Shine With Bette & Juliette, they're stepping into some famous ones — Bette Midler's and Juliette Lewis', respectively — and turning daytime TV into nighttime fun. Directed by Kurt Koehler (co-creator of Julie Brown's Homecoming Queen's Got a Musical, also at the Cavern Club), the cast (including Natalie Lander, Teddy Margas, Chris Sams and Niketta Scott), stages cooking demonstrations, exercise segments, makeovers, musical numbers and a look at what's really in those coffee mugs. If Hoda and Kathie Lee can get drunk, so can these two. Also, each show includes a guest celebrity impersonator. Last month it was Gwyneth Paltrow; this month it's another well-known 'ette, Bernadette Peters. Now that nearly all the ladies on The View are gone, morning talk shows could use a couple of new queens.
