Hard to believe the official organizer of our nation's “unofficial pastime” — air guitar — is already 10. For a decade, pseudo rock stars with stage names like Hot Lixx Hulahan, Rockness Monster and McNallica have won a little bit of glory by pretending to play the ax in the annual U.S. Air Guitar Championship. Tonight's regional round invites anyone who can perfectly demonstrate technical merit, stage presence and “airness” (defined as the “extent to which a performance transcends the imitation of a real guitar and becomes an art form in and of itself”). You'll advance to the national portion in Denver, followed by the Air Guitar World Championship in Oulo, Finland. Last year's national winner, Chicago's loincloth-wearing Justin Howard, performed to German metal band At Vance's song “Dragonchaser.” (Ironically, even with an alias like Nordic Thunder, he still didn't win in Finland.) Don't let us down. And don't expect to get laid. Troubadour, 9081 Santa Monica Blvd., W. Hlywd.; Fri., July 13, 8 p.m.; $20, $18 in advance. (310) 858-8443, usairguitar.com.
