Motorcycle vs. Vehicle Collision near Yew Road Left One Person Injured

KENNEWICK, WA (September 8, 2023) – Tuesday afternoon, a rider was hospitalized after a collision with two vehicles on State Route 397.

The incident happened on August 15th, just after 2:00 p.m., on the northbound lanes of State Route 397 between Yew Road and Finely Road.

According to reports, the rider was traveling southbound on State Route 397. For reasons currently unknown, the motorcycle crossed the center lines, hit the guardrail, and crashed head-on into a Ford Ranger and then into a Nissan Sentra.

The impact of the collision caused the motorcyclist to sustain serious injuries.

Emergency crews arrived shortly after and transported the rider to Kalec Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Reports state that the two drivers of the other involved vehicles were not injured in the accident.

Meanwhile, the officers blocked the lanes on the highway starting at milepost 16. They later reopened the area at around 4:20 p.m.

No additional information was added by the authorities, and the motorcycle crash with two vehicles on State Route 397 is still under investigation.
