38-Year-Old Man Dies in Motorcycle Accident on Edison Highway

BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 18, 2021) – An unidentified rider died Wednesday morning after a motorcycle accident on Edison Highway in Bakersfield.

The accident occurred shortly before 5:00 a.m., on Edison Highway, just east of Sterling Road. Officers arrived shortly after.

According to CHP, a Ford SUV was pulling out of a driveway at 3615 Edison Highway when it entered the road directly into the path of a 38-year-old man riding his eastbound motorcycle.

As a result, the motorcycle struck the front left side of the SUV.  The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Kern Medical Center.

Due to the extent of his condition, he was later pronounced dead. Meanwhile, the Ford driver remained uninjured.

Further information about the crash was not immediately available. Although, an active investigation is still under way.
