Police Pursuit near Interstate 5 Left Motorcyclist Dead

LODI, CA (August 2, 2022) – Saturday evening, a police pursuit on State Route 12 ended in a motorcycle crash and claimed a rider’s life.

The incident happened at around 11:44 p.m., when California Highway Patrol spotted a motorcyclist speeding near Interstate 5.

Officers attempted to stop the motorcyclist, who was riding a 2022 Harley Davidson. However, the driver continued driving, prompting a short pursuit.

The chase ended after the motorcycle ran through a red light and rear-ended a 2006 Ford F-150. The force of the impact caused the rider to be ejected from the motorcycle. He landed on the roadway and sustained major injuries.

Lodi officials later rushed him to a local hospital where he later died. At this time, the victim’s identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
