Traffic Accident on Interstate 5 Left One Fatality

ELK GROVE, CA (June 15, 2022) – A motorcycle crash on Hood Franklin Road left one rider dead, Sunday afternoon.

According to the California Highway Patrol, they received reports of a crash around 12:48 p.m., just west of Interstate 5.

Furthermore, authorities said a Kia Sorento heading westbound along Hood Franklin Road made a U-Turn to enter the southbound Interstate 5.

However, a motorcyclist on a Harley Davidson traveling westbound behind the Kia crossed into the eastbound lanes to pass the Kia, causing a collision in the roadway.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and transported the unidentified motorcyclist to a nearby hospital in a critical condition.

Unfortunately, the motorcyclist later died at Kaiser South Hospital on June 13th. Although, their identity has not yet been released pending notification of their next of kin.

No further details regarding the collision are available at this time; however, more information will be provided once released to the public. An active investigation is currently underway.
