Motorcyclist Pronounced Dead after Motorcycle Hit-and-Run Crash near Acton

NEWHALL, CA (February 22, 2023) – Tuesday evening, one motorcyclist died after a hit-and-run crash on Soledad Canyon Road. The incident happened at about 6:18 p.m. along the 7000 block of Soledad Canyon Road, east of Briggs Road on February 7th. A motorcyclist was hit by a driver in a white, single-cab Chevrolet or Ford truck, according to the CHP. The driver then left the scene, and witnesses reported seeing it traveling westbound on Soledad Canyon Road. First responders arrived and declared the motorcyclist dead on the scene. The name of the deceased is withheld pending notification of kin. A portion of the roadway was temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties but has since been reopened. Meanwhile, an active investigation into the fatal hit-and-run crash on Soledad Canyon Road is still underway. Newhall Police will release further information as soon as they become available.
