One Pronounced Dead after SUV vs Motorcycle Crash on North Basque Avenue
FULLERTON, CA (September 4, 2024) – One motorcyclist died Wednesday afternoon, in a fiery motorcycle crash on Commonwealth Avenue.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:00 p.m., near North Basque Avenue on August 28th.
According to reports, the driver of a white SUV was traveling east on West Commonwealth Avenue and attempted a U-turn at the intersection, causing westbound traffic to stop.
Soon after, the rider of a black 202 Harley Davidson was unable to avoid the stopped vehicles, resulting in a crash. The motorcyclist was thrown from the bike onto the road, where a gray 2021 Toyota RAV4 struck them.
Footage from the scene shows one of the vehicles engulfed in flames. Paramedics arrived and pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene.
Investigators stated that the 47-year-old Toyota driver remained at the location and cooperated with authorities.
Emergency crews temporarily closed off the area during cleanup and initial investigation.
