Fiery Collision on De Wolf Avenue Left 71-Year-Old Man Dead, 2 Seriously Injured

FRESNO, CA (June 9, 2022) – A fiery crash on Floral Avenue claimed the life of 71-year-old Richard Wilkin Tuesday evening.

According to the authorities, officers responded to the crash around 8:05 p.m. at the intersection of South De Wolf and East Floral Avenues.

Investigators said a Chevrolet Suburban driven by Wilkin approached the intersection of De Wolf while going westbound on Floral Avenue.

At the same time, an eastbound Chevy Silverado also approached the intersection. For reasons unknown, the Suburban turned southbound directly into the path of the Silverado resulting in a head-on crash.

Unfortunately, Wilkin died at the scene while the Silverado driver and his passenger sustained life-threatening injuries.

Furthermore, witnesses at the scene extricated the two injured men from the wreck before the vehicle became fully engulfed in flames.
