GALT, CA (May 24, 2022) – 42-year-old Richard Jooha Lim died in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 99, late Thursday morning.

The incident happened around 11:50 a.m. on May 19th, along northbound lanes of the freeway just south of Simmerhorn Road.

According to the reports, Lim was driving in his minivan when for reasons unknown, he veered onto the shoulder of the road. There, Lim crashed into the back of the tractor-trailer that was parked on the right side of the highway.

Due to the extent of his injuries sustained, responding officers pronounced 42-year-old Lim dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the other driver, a 50-year-old man from Arlington, did not sustain injuries from the crash.

Police closed the surrounding lanes of the road to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties, before they were later reopened. At this time, an active investigation to determine further details is currently underway.
