Driver Sought Following Fatal Hit-and-Run Near 74th Street

LOS ANGELES, CA (April 28, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, a hit-and-run collision in the south Los Angeles area took the life of Ricardo Isai Cordova-Mejia. Emergency personnel responded to the incident around 4:00 a.m. on Hoover Street and 74th Street. According to the police, a vehicle, possibly a silver sedan, struck and carried the victim nearly a block to 75th Street. However, the driver did not pull over and fled the scene before the authorities arrived. Tragically, paramedics declared the male pedestrian dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased victim as 39-year-old Ricardo Isai Cordova-Mejia of Los Angeles. At this time, the city of Los Angeles is offering a reward of up to $50,000 to anyone who can lead the police to the suspect’s arrest.
