2 Dead after Semi-Truck Accident near Twisselman Road

LOST HILLS, CA (July 18, 2022) – Monday morning, a big-rig crash on Interstate 5 killed Ricardo Gomez Perez and Manuel Velasquez Garcia.

Officers responded to the scene around 3:29 a.m., near Twisselman Road.

Per reports, Perez was driving a semi-truck south on the highway when a northbound semi-truck, driven by Garcia, crossed the center median. As a result, the two big-rigs collided head-on.

The impact of the crash left both male drivers with life-threatening injuries. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, officials pronounced both men dead at the scene.

Kern County coroner’s office identified the two victims as 55-year-old Perez, of Healdsburg and 44-year-old Garcia, of Montclair.
