City Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell and the Los Angeles Police Department were scheduled to announce a proposed $50,000 reward for information leading to the apprehension of the suspects.

It appears that the trio tried to rob the 47-year-old from Pasadena of her purse before one of the three shot her in the head as she fled:

It happened about 3 a.m. on October 3 on Melrose Avenue and North Kenmore Street in East Hollywood, police said.

In a statement, Krekorian's O’Farrell's office described the attack this way:

As the victim tried to run away, one of the men followed her, and shot her point blank in the head as she crossed the street. The victim stumbled and eventually collapsed on the sidewalk.

Parker was taken to LAC+USC Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Despite what detectives said were multiple security videos of the attack, the three had yet to be nabbed.

So far police believe this was a robbery gone sideways, but some activists want the case investigated as a hate crime, too.

Meanwhile, Parker's family was raising money via GoFundMe.com so they could transport Parker's body to her native Arkansas for burial, her sister told us.

Family members say she died just short of her 48th birthday.

Krekorian's O’Farrell's announcement was scheduled for 11 a.m. at City Hall.
