Fresh off a win of the 2016 Taco Madness competition, Revolutionario near USC has decided to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a gift that everyone can get behind: free tacos.

At his West Adams taqueria, chef and owner Farid Zadi will be giving out one free vegetarian taco to the first 500 customers of the day on May 5. Customers can choose from three filling options.

If you've never tried Revolutionario's unique North Africa/Mexican–inspired tacos, consider this an ideal excuse. On the menu you'll find things like barbacoa marinated in pungent chermoula spice, roasted cauliflower tossed in ras el hanout and a salsa bar decked out with things like kimchi curtido and green harissa.

Revolutionario North African Tacos Sin Fronteras — as it's known by its full name — also willdonate a percentage of sales on May 5 to support undocumented immigrants in need of financial assistance. “We want to express solidarity with undocumented Hispanic immigrants, because 84% of agricultural workers in America are Hispanic and 75% were born in Mexico,” Zadi says.
