In this charming romantic comedy, Manny (Dominic Comperatore), an aspiring Greek-American screenwriter, falls hard for the beautiful, virginal Eve (Erin Neill), only he can’t commit. Writer-director Vlas Parlapanides writes well and draws strength from the undeniable chemistry between his two leads. While Manny remains a bit too passive to stir real empathy, it’s pleasing to see him walk off with the lovely Eve, and striking too that he manages to do so without having to utter the dreaded “L” word. This is an imperfect but promising feature debut for filmmaker and cast.
