Kindra Windish

Given her company’s attention-grabbing name and crew of equally compelling dancers, it’s no stretch that artistic director Holly Johnston was named one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch in 2008.” Her Ledges and Bones Dance Project offers up three premieres this weekend, including Tracing Echoes, a solo for the mesmerizing guest artist Maria Gillespie. Johnston explores a classical vein of contemporary dance in Ellice, with a sextet performing to the music of Bach, and employs images from lighting designer Johnny Garofolo in Sand and Water to create a landscape of falling sand and rippling water. The dancers are Arletta Anderson, Irin Beneze, Tekla Kostek, Sarri Sanchez, Sarandon Vicent and Kindra Windish.
