Lemonade, which just opened a third location on Abbot Kinney in Venice last month, is set to open a fourth in a week or two: a museum cafe at MOCA. The opening date is tentatively set as "mid-September." The original Lemonade is on Beverly Boulevard; the second location is in on South Flower Street downtown. All four Lemonades are owned by the husband-and-wife team of Heidi and Alan Jackson, who also own and operate Jackson Catering, which is based in downtown LA.
The MOCA Lemonade will be slightly smaller than the original location and considerably smaller than the new Abbot Kinney restaurant. It will, however, have plenty of outside café seating; and the menu will be very similar to the other Lemonades. In other words, look for market-driven salads, soups and sandwiches; tiny cupcakes, giant cookies. Oh, yes, and lemonade. Something to keep your strength up for all that abstract expressionism and pop art. I don't know about you, but Claes Oldenburg always makes me hungry.
