An assistant coach of the Los Angeles Kings hockey team was arrested at a Washington, D.C. hotel on suspicion of a misdemeanor sex abuse charge, according to television station there.

Police were called to the Mayflower Hotel about 1:15 a.m. after a victim complained she had been assaulted, according to Washington, D.C.'s ABC7. Arrested was 51-year-old Mark Hardy of the Kings.

The twentysomething woman who said she was a relative of the coach reportedly told authorities she had gone to his suite with others after a night of drinking and she ended up asleep alone in a room only to wake with the suspect next her. The coach, who lives in Manhattan Beach, is said to be married.

The team had no comment.
