Murrieta Man Dies in a Single Vehicle Collision in Wildomar

WILDOMAR, CA (March 4, 2021 ) – Saturday morning on February 27, 24-year-old Rene Leduff Jr. was trapped in a burning car after a fatal collision on Olive Street.

According to reports, the incident took place around 2:45 a.m. Dispatchers arrived at the Olive Street underpass to Interstate 15, shortly after.

The car was hung on a wire fence over the bridge, and the firefighters had difficulty in securing the vehicle to remove the driver. Once freed from the wreckage, the driver was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, Leduff Jr. of Murrieta was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The surrounding area on Olive Street was closed during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since reopened. Further details leading up to the deadly crash still remain unclear.
