For many, pursuing a career in the music industry is a lifelong dream that they wish to fulfill. But for the emerging artist SEASICKWAVY, the craft is much more than that. After all, finding his niche as a musician quite literally saved his life.

The gifted man had his first shot at fame when he joined the popular television program, The X factor in 2011. He went five rounds and got eliminated but not before gaining the admiration of judges L.A. Reid and Nicole Scherzinger. His appearance on the TV show opened up countless opportunities for SEASICKWAVY, including several record deals, which he eventually turned down as he wanted to stay independent. In addition, he became a favorite opening act for headliners on tours across the West coast.

One of the most memorable tours he had was alongside rapper Kap G. Together, they made the hit song “PESOS,” which gained global recognition. His next hit was “HOLD ME DOWN,” which featured Daddex of Empire Records. After the single was released, the talented artist had the incredible opportunity to perform it in his hometown of Orange County at The Observatory with Landon Cube, 24kgldn, and Daddex.

SEASICKWAVY is undoubtedly one of the most promising performers in the music scene today. However, many people do not know that before becoming a highly requested artist, he had a tumultuous past. Born Anthony Caruso to an Italian mother and Hawaiian father, he had a difficult childhood. He and his little brother were raised by their teenage mother single-handedly as his father was in prison most of his life. Growing up, he remembered living in a trailer, being very poor and relying on WIC to get by.

Yet amidst these adversities, the young boy found solace in music during high school. He loved performing and often participated in lunch school dances and talent shows. Because of his passion and energy, he was voted as “most likely to become a celebrity.”

He was already paving his way to becoming an artist and was even noticed by KONVICT records. But, the deal fell through when he got into trouble and landed in jail. This was when he decided to return to music and turn his life around. He auditioned for The X factor and the rest, as they say, is history.

Now, SEASICKWAVY is indeed making waves for his unrivaled musical prowess and artistry. He recently toured with fellow rappers and musicians Shoreline, Fenix Flexin, MoneySign suede, and Peysoh. They lit up the several stages in Portland, Eugene, Seattle, Oakland, Los Angeles, and Phoenix. On top of that, he was on the road doing a three-city tour run with Wifisfuneral in Santa Ana, Santa Cruz, and Berkeley.

Moving forward, the remarkable singer-songwriter intends to continue his upward trajectory and break into the mainstream. He is currently working with Daddex on new music, which is expected to drop this year. As such, fans and music enthusiasts should keep an eye out for the inspiring musician as he rises to the top of the music industry.
