Pedestrian Accident on Maple Avenue and McKinley Avenue Left Woman Dead

FRESNO, CA (December 16, 2021) – A pedestrian collision on North Maple Avenue claimed the life of Rebecca Rossel, Tuesday evening.

According to officers, the driver of a large SUV struck a woman crossing the street at McKinley Avenue and Maple Avenue.

Investigators say the female pedestrian was walking on an unmarked crosswalk when the collision happened.

Paramedics arrived and transported the severely injured woman to Community Regional Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries.

Police pointed out that the driver did not see the woman and hit her in the number 2 lane of westbound McKinley Avenue. Officers later identified the deceased woman as 30-year-old Rebecca Rossel, of Fresno.

At this time, authorities continue to investigate the fatal pedestrian collision.
