Prosecutors today charged an 18-year-old Calabasas man with burglary not once but twice. It isn't clear if Nicholas Prugo stole from the rich to give to the poor (you know, those Range Rover drivers in the far West Valley), but the district attorney's office believes he targeted well-heeled stars Lindsay Lohan and Audrina Patridge.

The Lohan burglary in the 2200 block of El Contento Drive Aug. 23 caused a stir because $128,000 in jewelry and clothes was taken from the Hollywood Hills abode. Celeb watchers speculated if the notorious party girl had invited the wrong characters to her pad. There was also some security footage depicting two young women with a man in that break-in, but so far the D.A. is pointing the finger at just one suspect — Prugo.

So far authorities have released no evidence showing the suspect knew the actresses. It wasn't clear how the suspect allegedly came to prey on two young, moneyed stars.

The residence of Patridge, who her made her name starring on reality show The Hills (and on that, er, Burger King commercial), was burglarized Feb. 23. Two people were seen on security video in that breach. The district attorney says $43,000 worth of goods was taken in that incident.

Prugo, who was arrested and released last month in lieu of $100,000 bail, is scheduled to be arraigned Nov. 11. He faces two counts of first-degree residential burglary.
