Curated by Malik Gaines of My Barbarian, this show features the work of 19 contemporary artists who all use different media to explore language and how we use it to identify ourselves and shape the world around us. All of the artists in this show use text or language as a focal point. Highlights include Emily Roysdon’s video Untitled/POW , paintings by Glenn Ligon, Lisa Anne Auerbach’s knitted banners and Jack Pierson’s wall sculptures. Also included are Andrea Bowers, Charles Gaines, Stephanie Taylor, Mary Kelly, My Barbarian, Shannon Ebner, Dustin Ericksen, Alexandra Grant, Vishal Jugdeo, Ken Lum, Lucas Michael, Glynnis Reed, Guan Rong, Lara Schnitger and Mark Titchner.
